WTB zoanthids

I know the frag swap is right around the corner but it seems everywhere I go nobody has very exotic/colorful zoanthids? This weekend I did my usual LFS hopping and didn't find anything that caught my eye and havn't over the past few months. Yet alot of online vendors sell really amazing looking zoanthids with crazy names like (x-men/eagle eye/ eye of raw/ orange zoanthids...etc) and was wondering if anyone local has these for sale or know of a place that has these for sale?

Please don't missunderstand me, all the LFS's have nice corals but just in the zoanthid department it seems like the same stuff keeps popping up and it doesn't help that I am picky.

Any stores you could recommend or if you personally have a few for sale please let me know.

Thanks

-Matt

reefs edge has real x-men.

Yea thats where I first saw them. I just physically and mentally can't spend almost $200 on a frag not much bigger then a quater with a few polyps. For me thats working my *** off for a few days for that little frag. That drives me crazy when LFS's sell zoanthids by the polyp.

I know how you feel. It is an expensive hobby and I am definitely limited to what I can afford (not much, in other words).

matt,
your more than welcome to stop by and see my frags. i have a bunch of different stuff and they are reasonably priced.
thanks,
jess

I'm brining a couple of frags of these to the swap. They look like eagle eyes by they are not, they dont have the green mouths, and they are alot smaller polyp.

Matt i agree that is expensive. But the nice rare stuff is. I bought some X-Men from an online vendor some time ago for $25 a polyp. The best way is to try and find someone to trade with. There are a lot of people in the hobby that are not in it for the money but the pleasure and are willing to trade. I dont know how much of the real rare polyps will be at the swap but I am sure somebody will have some. But if they are selling really rare stuff it probably wont be cheap.

Matt a few months post the frag swap a few of us that are interested in filling our aqauriums more than just selling, are planning on having something like a frag party...
Each one will bring in a few items to frag and just try to hook each other up. If you are intertested in coming along let me know...
One quickly finds out that this is not a cheap hobby, but it can be manageable, fun and interesting with a few friends.

I'll vouch for that.
Jess has some nice zoas, and he doesn't ask more than $15-20 for a nice sized frag.
I spend more than that just on the shipping when I get a frag off ebay.

Heck, everyone in the club that I've gotten anything from (Jess, Joe, Andrea, Darcy, etc.) has always been dirt cheap, and extremely generous.

Definitely send Darcy a PM if you haven't already.
I just saw him last night and got a big, beautiful frag of the Eagle Eyes, and some other stuff.
(Hey Darcy, thanks again, man. You really hooked me up. My maroon is loving his new BTA. Pics coming later. Thanks for the "tank tour", you've got an awesome looking set-up there, and I definitely learned a thing or two.)

I agree. This is a great group of hobbyists.
Anything I have growing I'd much rather trade with a member here than sell/auction.

You know it...volunteerguy
We were thinking about 2 months post frag swap to give the corals time to grow and get stable...what you think?
So far we have (including you) a toal of 3...I have a nice laod of stuff I will be fragging (as of now, and whatever I get at the swap)

Aww say more like 3rd week of April, like the weekend of 21-22...
I will probably be out of town, the at the begining of April.
