Wyoming Whites Clownfish

Clowntastic

Does anyone on here have a pair of Wyoming Whites? If so can you post a picture of them? Is the only visible difference between them and Platinums the color or their iris and dorsal fin? Does anyone know where I can get information on these? I searched online and can't find place selling them either.

I used to have a pair, but it's a bit more pale. Platinum actually have a bigger contrast between the white & the black fins, the wyoming white fins tends to be more palely white

Post 3 & 4
You might actually think you are being funny and a little part of me can see that but please be supportive of my questions. I would if you were posting something.

I think people would be a lot more accepting of your proposed husbandry practices if you came out and said that it is your intention to buy a lot of 100 fish from the breeder, and then flip them as young adults 9 months later to make some cash. I assume that this is what this is all about. If that is your plan, there are much better ways to do it than setting up a reef style system for the fish. There are plenty of people on here who have experience raising clowns in production type facilities who could give you some useful advice, but you really need to come forward and let it be known that this is not an attempt at long term husbandry. If you are doing this to try and make a few bucks, fine-- but if you really think that these fish /this reef will be healthy then you should consider re-reading the other thread where 99% of the people involved discouraged you...not because they are mean people who want to be discouraging, but because they have the experience to know better than to try to keep such a heavily stocked reef.

One of the things that gets me is your willingness to throw money away. I recently "stole" a picasso and a platinum from a breeder friend of mine for $100 each. So, at $100, you are talking about $5000 in fish!

Wyoming Whites, if you can find them, will be twice or three times that cost.

Now, for my two cents, I think a tank with 8-10 different clowns would look cool!

Now for my experience......I have a 100 gallon frag tank. I had a Snowflake, Black Onyx/Black hybrid, Black Ocellaris, Platinum, and the previously mentioned Picasso. Five mixed clowns, all added at about the same time. Three from the same breeder. After about a month, the Snowflake started to bond with the Onyx/Black hybrid. Picasso is no more. Jeff's out $100. So, my 100 gallon tank now has a divider in it with one pair on each side (ended up getting a pair of Onyx clowns at a swap. Snowflake and her "buddy" are now in a 120.

So, while I think it would look extremely cool. I do not believe it will work in the long term.

Is there a hazing process that newbies have to go thru on this site? This is my 2nd question and again I feel like I am getting the short end of the stick here. Is there something I am missing here? Someone, anyone please step up and tell me what is wrong with with questions I asked in this thread.

No my comments were to make sure you are aware of the cost. You are picking out the most expensive clownfish (but, I must admit, some of the coolest!). Not sure if you are aware of that.

Wyoming Whites are extremely rare. C-Quest was the only company producing them. And while they are still around, it is my understanding that they are not producing Wyoming Whites. My buddy has one and it is not throwing white fish at all.

And as far as the "hazing process". We are collectively trying to save YOU some headaches and some money. Hopefully, you will learn from the mistakes made by others (myself included). At the same time, we are collectively trying to save the fish needles suffering.

Are you really surprised? So far in your history on this board you have started a thread with some outlandish (to put it extremely mildly) desires and completely ignored all sensible advice given to you by experienced reefers with decades of experience. The members that have taken the time to reply to your threads thus far aren't the only one's finding you hard to believe.

I must apologize. My last comment was not directed at you. I sent the culprit a PM. I thank you for you advice and will consider it. I am here because I heard its the best forum and I want to learn and share. I appreciate the advice. Thanks again.

I apparently missed the thread the other day so I had to go back and educate myself on what happened. There is no hazing process here. However, there is a forum packed with reefers who love and care about fish passionately. Therefore, when someone is being destructive and ignoring all the well respected knowledgeable people, it's naturally not going to go over very well...:deadhorse:

Not to mention when people take time out of their day to respond to your posts to help you and have your best interest in mind and you completely disregard what they have to say and blow them off...what kind of response are you really expecting? :uhoh3:

Just look at it this way, with 20 posts under your belt, you are getting close to enough forum traffic to hit the classified section of the site that is hidden to new members!

I have just asked a few questions, that's all so I don't really understand what all the fuss is about, especially this thread. All I am asking is for members experience with Wyoming Whites. That's all. I am just trying to learn and share.
