Xmas Present, And We Just Read Your Return Policy!

My girlfriend took it upon herself to spend $600 with you guys for my xmas presents. One gift she purchased was a 3/4 Sea Swirl. The problem is that is does not fit on my tank. Great present no doubt, but it does not fit under my lighting. I wish it worked but it simply does not. How is she going to know that! Its a present! The tank is not even set up yet because we are waiting till after xmas to do it. I just got this from her today on xmas and we opened the box....that was it, simply broke the tape on the box and we read that you do not accept open items. There is no packaging, just a box and bubble wrap.
Please tell me you are kidding, I hope so!! We can not afford to lose $200.00 because we opened the tape on the box. The Sea Swirl is brand spankin new, just cut the tape. The box is not torn or anything.

There is no way gifts for xmas can have a policy like that attached to it. It is simply impossible. We just need it refunded so we can get something that works. I have spent a ton of money with you over the years and NEVER RETURNED one thing, EVER!

We also apologize for the scary Return Policy text. We will update it in 2012 to be more customer-friendly. We've made many changes to the design of our website recently"”now we need to work on the copy. Weekends being the exception, we're on RC daily to make sure your questions and concerns are addressed and resolved quickly. We definitely encourage folks to contact us first before posting a problem online, but we understand how it is. Heck, we buy online, too.

I'v been shopping with you guys for 5 or more years and never really read the return policy because I never had any intention of returning anything I have bought. My purchases have always been well planned out and researched (knock on wood).
My girfriend really went above and beyond this xmas with my hobby and got me every test kit imaginable, Tunze top off unit, Sea Swirl, you name it. All for my new future set up in our new home. So it is refreshing to know her decisions are backed up 100% so thank you!

I did call this morning before work and you guys took care of it, no problem. It even seemed like the customer service agent was smiling on the phone :) The Sea Swirl is already intransit back to Cali. Now, A Vortec is on one of your shelves with my name on it. Either that or the Sicce Voyager with controller.
