Xr15 pro gen 4 fan question

They do not.
Temp controlled from what I noticed.
Been asking EcoTech for this since the 1st Gen Radion since it is quite noisy if you have a bedroom tank.

Hmm, are the Gen 4 XRw30 the same way? Does Ecotech mention this in the advertising of the Gen 4, seems like it would be a selling point.

Does this also apply to Gen 3 Pro XR15? if anybody knows?

From all the research that I've tried to do, it seems like any generation of the xr30, including the g4 are still with the always on fan malady.

I currently have two xr15 gen 3 pro's. The fans are off until it reaches x temperature.

Three of my XR30 G4 Pros are running 24/7 I noticed. I thought the fan is only, when it reaches to a certain temperature points. Are the G4s designed that way?

From how I understand it, the XR30s are always on. They do spin faster or slower based on internal temperature but do not fully stop at night when the light is off. Only the XR15s shut down fully.

Thank you for the info. The fan of my old AI Hydra 52 only running, when it reaches to a certain temperature.

Yes, all the AIs do this even going back to the SOL generation.
I've had many forum discussions regarding the resistance from R&D @ ET to address this going back to the 1st gen XR30, their foundation is that the 24/7 fan operation is to keep dust and humidity off of the circuit board.
Then what happened with the XR15s? Above my pay grade, Lol.

Quiet Active Cooling
The G4 heat sink has been designed from the ground up to maximize surface area and allow for superior heat dispersion. Multiple channels provide unrestricted airflow. This effective heat management greatly reduces the need for active cooling, which decreases fan and airflow noise. From ecotech marine website. I have called and was also told with quite active cooling the fan will turn on when needed as well as how much power is needed so if you are only running your lights at 40% and mid-day comes your fan may turn on bit lightly not at full power. However if you have a 36" deep tank and your running 100% then your active cool is going to say we need 100% cooling and fan will run at full blast until active cool realizes it can slow down or stop the fan

From what other G4 XR30 owners have told me, the fan is always on rather then what your description states, actual owner should chime in on this.

So I just went and checked my gen 4 xr30's.
The lights are off, but the fans are on.
