YAY!!! hosted!

my tomato clown just ventured into the RBTA i picked up for him. 24 hours from time it went into tank till clown met him.

turned the lights off just as he was swimming towards it and think he got startled because the lights just blacked out and he darted fowards and landed in it. and now hes like a kid in the candy store..

ok so a few questions
my RBTA is very small. 2.5 inchs across tops. tenticles are short maybe 3/4ths an inch long is this a baby or a split? . the people at the LFS said dont be optimistic with this one because he didnt look to good. but my home aquaria with my soon to be upgraded NOT5s are better than the bottem of the for sale tank he was in so, at least its getting better.

does it help or hurt the RBTA that a clown is hosted in it?
how much flow do RBTAs like? expessially one this small?
i have 160gph power sweep power heads. ( the ones that sweep back and forth.. ) in my 40 breeder.. and im guessing my sump pump is around 250-275 gph after headloss?

any thoghts? feeding tricks? or should i just let nature be for a few days and see what happens?

435 gph total is not enough i would bet a circulation pump to get some spread out flow i would target 1200gph or 30x turnover

a circulation pump? i was going to get some maxi jets 900s i think the 1200s would be to strong for my 36 inch tank.. agree disagree?
maybe mod a maxijet 900 ?

the only pumps i know about are really the maxi jets. ive read about the tunzes but they seem outta my budget .

I would get two MH 900s.

im guessing MHs are a typo for MJs..

now should i get a wave maker or keep them on constatly? with a wave maker ( id get a dj light timer style one link to wavemaker + MJ 900s ) or would this make my flow less than 30x like every one reccommends..

It sure can hurt the RBTA, especially if you have an unhealthy one. How big is the clownfish? Can you post a pic?

if i had a camera i would. the anemone is small. foot is about 2 inchs across and the tenticles are very short. barly stick outta the foot.

the clown is about 2 inchs as well. but its a tomato ( i think it has a second stripe so i belive its a juvi still ) so it will get bigger..

tunze 6025 is 60 dollars and comes with a magnet holder it is really dangerous to use suction cups when the pumps can fall and damage the anmeone
in my opinion one 6026 would be better than two maxijets and it would use less electricity

they are very wide open flow a jet stream is what the maxijet does they dont need to rotate
there is a reason so many people are using prop pumps they are really much more ideal for reef tanks thant the pressure pumps likthe maxi jet

wow after looking at karens site about rose anemoes.. they look diffrent then mine.

the only pink my little guy has is at the tips of his tenticles. sometimes when tehy are in a bubble form the entire bubble is pink.

well teh color thats left is a bright neon pink and it looks good.. does the color come back from the tips down or base up?

evenly in the tentacles first working into the oral disk
here is mine when i got it 3 months ago
