Yay, my 90g is being built!

Thanks guys, I'll take more pics inside the stand. The plumbing is very simple to be honest with you. I'm still waiting for my dedicated circuit to be put in. Just got my AC Jr in today, so I'll be messin with that tonight heheh.

nice, let me know how you like that thing. i might hafta pick one up. Does it have a pH probe on there? Did you get ur ro unit by any chance issac? I'm making water now finally, but it takes forever haha

I'm so confused.

If you had a tank custom made, why didn't you have them install an internal overflow for you?

It looks like you are running an external overflow instead?

Ying,

I just got home and opened the box up. Looks pretty sweet. Everything is smaller than I thought which is great. I was expecting big bulky things. Get it from ReefGeek (AC Jr + DC8 combo), I ended up paying $276 shipped with tax which is less than what my online invoice stated. I think there's some SoCal Discount or something. They have the lowest price on the combo right now. pH Probe is seperate which I will end up buying. One thing I didn't buy is the Serial Cable. I was led to believe that the unit itself had a RS-232 port built into it, but intstead it's a mini-din 8 pin connector so you would have to buy their special mini-din to 9-pin RS232 cable for $15.

No, my RO/DI unit did not arrive yet. UPS tracking shows it was suppose to be delivered today but never showed up. Go figure. Probably show up tomorrow. I'm hoping I have no missing parts or I will be pretty upset lol.

Fmellish,

The 'custom' external overflow is built into the back of the tank, it is not seperate, it is an actual part of the tank. People go this route to create more space for the display and to hide it from view. Internal overflows take up space and was something I did not want. I hope that clears up things.

yeh, i saw Marios, it looks like it has quite a bit of functions on there. I'll definitely get one during the winter months when I need to control my heater and chiller. So you can set it with your computer if u buy the 9 pin cable?

You still have time, sometimes they come at night. I had something delievered at 7:30 one night. Hope he sends you the right parts and you don't have to make a trip out to home depot like me. I'm still waiting on the other parts right now.

Before I tell you, you have to remember that there are different factors on what the final price would be for your tank through them. The best thing for you to do is call for a quote with everything you want done.

My Tank:
36x24x24 1/2" Acrylic all around.
External Overflow (600GPH) w/black back and clear sides, black cover with Durso Standpipe.
Euro Bracing with 1 hole drilled on each rear corner for cords.
Black Back w/ return hole drilled in the center.
Front corners rounded and all edges rounded.
Price: $600

My Sump:
My design (see photos on the first page)
40g capacity
Price: $230

My Stand:
36x24x36 Pine Stand
Removable doors
Stained
No center bracing.
Added removable 5" extension for the back of the tank to add more platform space.
Price: $370

Like I said, you should call them and ask for a quote on the exact things you want. There are a few things I had done that added on the price, like eurobracing, ext overflow and a high stand for example.

Ying, OMG dude, I just checked the UPS tracker for my RO/DI unit.

"A CORRECT SUITE NUMBER IS NEEDED FOR DELIVERY. UPS IS ATTEMPTING TO OBTAIN THIS INFORMATION"

I had it shipped to my office. Seems like they didn't put my Siote # down. :mad2:

damn man, bryan needs to get his act together. I got upset at him on sunday when i was looking for the part. he tried to tell me that no other place would talk to me on sunday and would just give me bacfk my money and leave me alone. They lie about when they ship stuff and when you find out, the customer service try to avoid you. I asked Carrie where my shipmen twas last tuesday and she said they shipped it out. Then I tried to ask her on friday to see where it was cuz she said they shipped it 2nd day air and she signed off instantly as soon as I posted my question on live chat. Then I asked Bryan on their forum and he said it'll be here on sat and sends me the tracking and I find out that they just shipped it out friday overnight. Call him back and make sure he gives you some freebies for your troubles. I still haven't recieved the fitting yet either.

Great unit, but not sure why he's doing this to everybody lately. I think they need to hired more workers or stop taking orders until they are caught up.

I am still waiting for my bladder tank replacement, which Carrie told me it has been shipped out like a week ago. God knows what the heck they are doing. If items has not been shipped out, just say so. Why need to lied, that I don't understand.

I need another unit for my parents, but kind'a not wanna order from them anymore, because I know I won't be getting the unit until like 3-4 weeks later and probably there'll be something missing or wrong adaptors. I got to admit, their unit are very nice, but customer service lately has been not too satisfying.

Update, so last night I went on their chat support and told them the situtation. I was told to call UPS and correct the problem :eek1: granted they said they would call too, but I shouldn't have to do anything at all. I did call UPS at 11PM and luckily I got a live person to "add" my suite # in. From what they said, there wasn't a suite # given on the label. I checked my order invoice and indeed I put down a suite # in my shipping address. According to the UPS rep, now I have to wait until Thursday for my package to arrive. This will put it two weeks since I placed my order. I order a lot of things online while I sit at work and everything I order usually states "ships same day" unless otherwise stated. PurelyH20 really needs to state on their website that it will not ship the same day, or the next, or the same week even. It's very misleading.

How can RC let these types of businesses advertise on their website? It's pretty clear on how many people are having problems with these guys if you go into the Purelyh20 sponsor forum. My experience with them started out great before I placed the order. But once the order was made, it was all downhill from there.

Is there someone from the RC Staff that we can send complaints to?

www.airwaterice.com

Ordered my RO/DI unit from them & had it within a week.

Had a problem w/ a JG fitting leaking & Walter sent it OVERNIGHT USPS @ no charge to me.

I know others have had problems w/ airwaterice, but IMO, thier customer service is second to none!!!

Steve :D

Hm.........looks like I might have to give airwaterice a try. My parents asked me to order them a unit and since Steve said he received his unit within a week, I definitely like the sound of that. I'm tired of dealing with Bryan and his many lies.

Hey Steve, is Walter easy to get a hold of? Does he answered his email right away or can you speak to him personally?

Steve,

Yeah, I should've ordered from them instead. I was so close to doing it too, but for some reason, I went with PurelyH20.

I'm a bit bitter right now lol.

I feel ya on that one. I was going to order the typhoon III but have no idea why i changed my mind. Now I regret it.

Airwaterice has a goofy website in my opinion.
It's just difficult to get all the information you need, to make your purchase, but they do get back to their emails. I feel like I'm reading a crazy Ebay auction with all the colors, icons, and different fonts on the RO unit pages. hehe-

They do ship quickly, although shipping for Florida UPS Ground, seems to take forever when you need replacement filters, but you can pay to upgrade I'm sure.

Regardless, their product is very good and performs as expected.

I wish they were in California.

I called & left a message & within 1 hour, Walter had returned my call. I didn't order the Typoon 3, I got the Typoon. I didn't need the DI bypass & since my setup was filling a 55 gallon drum, the float valve & auto shutoff were perfect for me. Picked up an inline TDS meter from the auction site for $25 shipped. I'm am most pleased w/ this setup & will refer anyone & everyone to Walter & airwaterice!!!!
