Yellow and Kole Tang in a 90..Whats the verdict?

Well here they are...I haven't got a great one of the kole yet because he's a quick 1. They ate up most of the hair algae and now i've got a little cyano. Gotta love the first few months of a new tank...

Make sure to keep Nori in the tank and feed them regularly with other foods as well.

The Yellow Tang looks a bit thin. It isn't something I would worry about right now since he just came from the fish store.

Just keep fresh nori in the tank as often as they will eat it (all day every day pretty much lol). Experiment with different meaty foods as well and you will find something they like.

My Yellow was eating Nori and Mysis as soon as he hit the tank. After a couple of months I finally got him onto pellets, and now he will eat anything that touches the water lol.

Thanks for the tip. He has been grazing a lot and so far he has ate a prepared food that i picked up from the lfs that contains a variety of algaes, nori and meats.

I have a yellow tang she is really nice and no fights since we got her. If you get a klenner shimp they realy like to get kleened and there knot a problom with clownfish and there not reallly jumpers. last they grow verry quickly Tessa

I have a kole tang in my 90g. This is a great looking tang to have in a tank. I've had him a little over 3 months know. He hasnt grown to much and has gotten a little fatter since I introuduced him into the tank. My kole tang never really picked at my rocks or sand to much. But he/she is starting to do a little more picking. But overall a great fish to have in a tank. I house him with a sailfin both in a 90g.

I have a Kole tang as well. Awesome fish, a little shy but he seems to get more and more brave each day. Doesn't seem to like the Nori though! Does this happen. He loves the spirulina shrimp, but not the Nori. Have you experienced this?

Since no one mentioned it, I thought I might. A 90 is too small long term for a Yellow tang and DEFINITELY too small for a sailfin.

Tangs in general are better suited for established tanks, not one just set up. You've mentioned a few times that this is a new tank...and yes, only being up a few months is new. The tank isn't 'established' until a year or so in.

Next, you came here asking for advice about the fish but had no intention on listening to what you received. You knew from the moment you first posted the thread that you were buying the fish, so why even ask? You have a new tank with 3 chromis in it and wanted to add 2 bio load machines and multiple people told you that you might want to wait. Your only response was to ask not to go off topic.

To answer your original question, the yellow and kole should get along. BUT the yellow CAN be a bully. AND the tank will be too small for the yellow shortly. If they make it through the re-cycle.
