Yellow assessor

I adopted one of these the other day and the little fellow is growing on me. Quick read says they are very reef safe and active. Anyone have experience with these? Looked around and couldn't find a consistent price, was hoping to get 3 more and move them into the display tank

Thanks for any info!

Its like something out of "Finding Nemo".

They have a few housed together in the RG Zoo in Syr. Seem docile enough. As Gary said, I don't think I've ever seen them upright. Always vertical or upside down.

I looked into these and from what I've read - here and elsewhere - is that they are a great fish, but can be quite expensive. I would love one someday!

That's a fair price IMO. Some reading shows that the wild caught one swim vertical and upside down in caves, after time in an aquarium that trait goes away

YA usually retails in the $30-$40 range. Not bad at all IMO.
That's more than reasonable. I saw them in a couple of places online in the $100 range. $30-40 ain't bad at all. I've only been at this for a year and a half and haven't seen any locally. Do they come in at all? Are they seasonal?

ORA has them, too. Were available locally at ABC Reefs in Syracuse for $60-65, but those are tank born and bred. One day I'd like to get three!

Right Gary, what I meant to say is ABCReefs in Syr had the ORA assessors for $60-65. I like the ORA fish, have clowns and a diamond goby form them. Healthy little buggers when I got them! Still healthy, but not so little a year and a half later.

ORA fish will probably run you more.

This isn't to say that ORA fish aren't worth the extra clams.
