Yellow Bellied Regal Angels

Hi,

I have heard of people ordering the yellow bellied regal from Liveaquaria and whenever one has gone through diver's den I have not been fortunate enough to see it/order it.

I am in the market for a couple medium 3-4" yellow bellied regals.

When a fish is ordered not from Diver's Den but site unseen so to say, what is th fishes current condition? How long has it been in your facility? Is it guarenteed to be eating? If so out of the water column or only picking at the rock?

How much do they typically go for in the diver's den section and how do these fish differ for the others listed other then it is WYSIWYG?

All fish (diver's den and not) have the 14 day guarentee right?

Thanks!

tanglovers,

Thank you for your inquiry. Our 14 day guarantee is offered for all the live specimens on our LiveAquaria website. Every fish that we offer through LiveAquaria is quarantined long enough to make sure that the fish is eating the offered frozen Gamma foods and not showing any signs of stress or illness. The fish shipped from California do not have a strict guideline on the amount of time each may be quarantined; however, it is very important to us to send the healthiest fish in the industry. Even with the added precautions that we take with shipping live stock we do not want to diminish the importance of quarantining new fish before adding them to your show tank.

The difference in ordering through Diver’s Den is that you see the actual species that is shipped. You are able to view the colors and sizes of each item and for a majority of the fish sold through Diver's Den we are able to determine the gender. The pricing of each fish offered through Diver’s Den varies due to the specifications of the fish. We are unable to guarantee these specifications when ordering fish that are shipped from California.

Are you planning on any yellow bellied regals to come through the divers den anytime soon? I know these rarely go through there so I am assuming the california location is the best option?

tanglovers,

Thank you for your response. We will check with our Aquaculture Coral & Marine Life Facility Monday and post whether we are expecting to have any Yellow Bellied Regal Angels available through Diver’s Den soon.

Tanglovers I received a large Red Sea Regal Angelfish from Live Aquaria ten days ago. (The Red Sea Regals have the yellow bellies.) He is approximately 6".

It took some experimenting to find what he likes to eat but he is eating now and doing very well. He likes oysters in the shell cracked open a bit and also eats nori.
I also have him in his own 55 gallon quarantine with two Royal Grammas that I purchased at the same time and live rock.

My point is if you have the knowledge to try one of these beautiful fish I highly recommend Live Aquaria.

I have quite a bit of experience with large angels and the harder to keep fish and know I can keep regals without much concern. I actually have a 5" regal (red sea) I have had for 3.5 years now in one of my systems. I just wanted to be sure they are handled the best possible and more importantly confirmed eating before being shipped. New arrivals will most definitely be QT'ed.

Glad to hear your big one is doing well. I would be looking for smaller then that for sure 3-4" range (mediums I guess by their site).

I wanted a medium Regal as well but they didn't have any for some time so I ordered the large. Of course two days after I received him they had mediums ; )

It's okay though. I am happy with mine and the larger size will probably fare better once he goes into the display with my 4" Purple Tang.

Chihuahua6,

Thank you for your post. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. The Yellow Bellied Regal Angel that was pictured on our Diver’s Den was placed there in error. This fish was purchased by another customer and the picture was added back onto the web site in error.
