My Coris wrasse is swimming into the side glass and biting at it...? I know fish have a tendency to swim up and down on the glass when stressed. Is that what this is? http://youtu.be/D6MnsDwDXmQ
it doesn't look like he's slamming against the glass, i don't really see anything glaringly unusual about him. it almost looks like he's swimming away from the flame angel. does the angel ever chase him?
oh and thanks, now that song is gonna be stuck in my head all day!
He seemed to eat fine, right after this was taken. He has seemed a little more aggressive lately. There's a lot more action in my tank the past few weeks, since I added 4 green chromis. Their constant swimming and schooling pattern keeps the other fish moving too. Including the wrasse. He seems to take up issue with my yellow tail damsel. I didn't see any aggression before I noticed this behavior though.
You have a male. He is seeing his reflection in the corner of the tank and trying to chase off what he thinks is another male invading his territory. It should get less after a few days. He will still do it, just not with the same frequency.
H. chrysus doesnt begin life as a male. It starts as a juvenile, transitions to female, transitions to male, and then develops into a terminal phase male. In each of these changes its tolerance to conspecifics decreases. Add to that environmental queus that signal changes in resources or time to be ready for spawning and your specimen's behavior is "strange".
