Yellow growths on live rock

Will try to take a pic of this tomorrow. On the bottom side edge of one of my pieces of LR there are these little yellow growths coming up, they look like little pieces of play doh but they are definately getting bigger. They are opaque and bright yellow. Any clue what they could be? When I say small I mean they are 1-2 mm each.

Yup, a pic would help. A couple things come to mind, mainly sponges, but I would hate to guess on a basic description

ok as soon as it's daylight and I turn my tank lights on ill grab a pic

that sounds like a pretty good description of a sponge, especially the non-defined body shape part. But yeah, the pic usually nails it.
