I just got caught up with your thread, its great to hear that the mag is continuing to do well! Sorry about your loss, it is weird that the dominant fish would be the one to jump. An tank growth picture series would be cool to see how things have progressed. Good Luck :thumbsup:

I just go a second H. magnifica. Here she is nder my care for 1 week and have not deflated. I fed he some dry flakes today. I cannot chance she eat some bad food. She ate it a little slow but ate all the flakes I squirt into her tentacles. I got this anemone also from Aquarium Master last week. It is in my 58 g tank at my office under 250 W DE 14000K MH
Very pretty, looks like a purple-based. Yours also has the shorter tentacles. I think maybe the purple ones have shorter tentacles compared with the reddish- based ones with yellow tentacles. I say that because in one tank I have a purple- based and reddish- based side-by-side, with the same lighting and feeding schedule and the reddish- based with yellow tentacles has tentacles almost twice as long as the purple-based one.

She is a magenta base Magnifica. I think the short thick tentacles are because she not quite healthy yet. At first her tentacles are very short and stubby but they are somewhat longer after 1 week. I fed her some shrimp and mysis today and she ate them quickly. We will see if her tentacles will get longer as she get healthier. Also there are a few area that is partially bleach I hope they will recover quickly. Other when she was in the bag and move into the tank, I have not seen her deflated this whole last week. I still keep my finger cross but I think she is doing, and will be, OK. I won't try to feed her too much since I find from previous experiences that feeding anemones before they are ready to eat can be very stressful and detrimental to them.

Beautiful anemone, Minh!! I obtained a small Ritteri that was in someone's tank for a while, then they took it to a LFS with one PC bulb and SG of 1.030. It is in my fuge right now and looks pretty bad, so time will tell. I will post a pic if it makes it the next couple of days.

The ting is that after many year I found a nice one. However, the LFS where I got his one from (Aquarium Masters in Corpus Christi, Texas) got 4 more, some of which are just as colorful and all are doing well and seem healthy. I wish I got a bigger tank, then I can get a third one.
