Jadran and Gary,
It is a Crocea that I got for many years. It was 1 inch when I got it from a LFS (ORA I think). Now it is pushing 5 inches (I just look at it again and estimate it). The scuttles grew in aquarium thus do not worn away like in the wild. I have had many Crocea with scuttes like that. It is a Crocea not Maxima or Squamosa.
The mantels are not injur with the Magnifica touch. However, with three anemones on this rock, I will need to move the clam soon. It just get shaded. The rock is about 1.5 foot by 1+ foot. There are plenty of spaces for the anemones but not with the clam on it too. The clam just don't get enough light.
clowns101,
Royal Gramma live in harem with one male and multiple females. The most dominate will turn male and the rest stays as females. If you put two males together they will fight to the death. I keep harem of Royal Gramma all the time. By themselves, the RG will turn into male rather quickly (like in 7 days or so IMO). Anyway, even at small size, if live by themself for any lenght of time, when put together they will fight to the death. This is why they have the nasty reputation, and the believe that they live as singleton which is prevalent in the reefkeeping community.
To set up a harem, you need to buy the RG as soon as they come to the LFS. These fish will still be females and if you put a group of them together, they will form a natural harem in your tank. If they stay by themself at the LFS, you should not put them togeter. Rather, have them order these fish for you and quarantine them as a group.
Keep them happy and a group of three to five will breed in your aquarium.
