I bought this as a frag and was told it was a “green slimer”. However, it has never shown any green color at all. It has always appeared as a bright yellow color … both under Phoenix 14k lamps (very blue) and now under Ushio 14k lamps (very white). Is it indeed a “slimer”?

I think your the third this week questioning the identity of the 'Green Slimer'. From what I have seen, there are quite a few acros being called this, but the only thing in common is green and slime! Yours may turn green with a bit more iron in the water. Yours look like either A. copiosa or A. microphthalma. The later is often bright yellow-green. Other species listed as 'slimers' are A. yongei, A. tumida, A. formosa and A. grandis.

I have a green slimer in my main tank that looks your top pic and one in frag tank that looks completely different from any on the thread. Different light and flow do wierd things to a coral.
