Yellow tang died after 7 days

I currently have a 75 g. Fairly new tank. The tank is about 2 months old and the diatom bloom has just cleared. I have a naso tang and jewel damsel. I aqcuired a yellow tang 7 days ago. He was healthy full of life eating and energetic. He even seem to be super close buddies with the naso tang. I fed them this morning and when i came home the yellow tang was dead stiff on his side on the sand. I also have a couple of softy corrals and 30 snails and 30 crabs. Please help this is the second time this has happen but the first fish was a blue hippo. The hippos seem to have ich but i do not know now sense my naso is thriving. Water perameters are 79-80 f. 0 all across the board with ph of 8.1. Sg is .23.

Fish die, even under the care of experienced reef keepers, and it's not always clear why. However, I will tell you what I tell folks new to the hobby (and some not so new): setup a QT tank for all new fish (maybe inverts too, but certainly fish). Particularly if you are attempting to keep Tangs, a QT will save you money and frustration, but it requires patience. Frankly, if one does not have the latter in abundance, this is not a good hobby to choose :). As to what killed the yellow tang, and hippo before it, you'd have to provide a bit more details on how the fish looked both before and after they died. If the hippo had ich, and they are incredibly susceptible to it, then your tank now has ich and both your existing fish and any new ones you'd try to add are at risk.

The other thing folks here will tell you is that a 75 is marginal for a yellow tang, but way too small for a naso or a hippo. OK, maybe they are tiny, but at some point they will not be tiny anymore and you will have all sorts of problems.

It maybe that he was picked on by the naso, did you quarantine and if so what medications. I will also ask why you have a naso in the 75 those guys get 18 inches

Did your LFS tell you that yellow, naso and hippo would be ok in a 75 gal? I had two LFS recommend me Naso tangs for my 60 gal. Unfortunately they do that and some people fall for it. Seems to be the case here. Hippo and Naso need larger systems.

No i did not qt and yeah the lfs said the naso would be fine. They said the yellow would be too. I had a blue hippo die and he looked like he might have had ich so i have been feeding garlic and vitamin c. The yellow was perfect nothing wrong no white life or anything just dead. Now my jewel damsel is turning white or pale the front half of his body/face is turning white and discolored. He also seems very stressed rushing around the tank

Feeding garlic and vitamin c to your fish may make you feel better, but it's unlikely to do anything for them.

One very important lesson to learn: Many fish stores lie or don't know what they're talking about. Remember, these people want to sell you things. Take their advice with a grain of salt and do your research.
Your naso tang is very active and will reach a foot and a half long. It cannot be kept in a 75g, and neither can the hippo. Please find a new home for your naso.
