Just wanted to share some pics of what I’m seeing…

I read the sticky thread on this subject and all water parameters are normal (I’ve read Ph can be a factor here, it’s steady at 8.1). Seems like it might just be a mild case at this point… Should I try some large water changes? Take him out to medicate? Or just keep an eye on it for now?

Red spots are often a sign of a bacterial problem .. many times they clear up on there own. Your PH is fine and s/n have anything to do with the red spots. If you fish is eating fine I would not be concerned.

You have alot of fish for that sized tank ... water quality and stress may be a factor, if so, water changes and perhaps a reduction in bio load may help.

So after reading everything about the red-ness on Tang I was not sure what is causing mine… But get this… I do use a poly pad on the top of my sump tower (1st thing that water from the display hits going into the sump). I religiously change the pad every Sunday (just toss the old one, its cheap). I noticed last sunday that the pad was more filthy than normal after a week. I also noticed Monday morning the tang had NO TRACE of red-ness now. Mmmmmm. I’m going to try and change the pad twice a week for a little bit and see what happens…

Thanks for the advice!!!

There is a good sticky on the top of this forum... forward that to him... I've been changing that pad every 3 days and the red-ness has not come back...

Things seem to be getting worse for my friend his yellow tangs swimming fins are red. O.o doesnt sound good and he did a 50% water change.

Give it a try.. I know with mine results were fast... After changing the dirty pad he was fine the next morning...
