Yellow tang ttm

I have a yellow tang that's in 10 gallon and I'm doing ttm however I haven't had him eat mysis that much so I'm trying seaweed. Im using a pvc pipe and tying the seaweed with a rubber band. My question is and I hope it doesn't sound stupid but will the seaweed increase ammonia or nitrates if I leave it in there for a few hours?

Use an ammonia lock, you are replacing the water every three days so feed away. With that said, an ammonia badge can be very helpful here, and if there is food sitting at the bottom you can easily remove with a turkey baster.
