no, i know mine isnt a flowerpot. Had one of those and they looked completely different. The flowerpot had much thicker polyp stem things (not sure what they're called? lol). The polyps on toadstools are very thin.
As for your fiji not extending any more polyps than is shown in your pic...they're supposed to as far as i can tell (judging by mine and every picture i've seen of them before). The polyps are short, but they do come out all over the coral.
One last thing...i read an article either on here or on Reefkeeping mag that said that leathers are almost impossible to get a 100% positive ID now. Reason being is there are so many that look VERY similar, but i think that it also sadi something about them sorta morphing? Not sure on that part. It had something to do with lots of them looking very similar and lots of them having different color patterns, and it can all be based on location. And the same coral might look a bit different only 20 ft from where it is in the ocean. Too many variables for them. Oh, and also you have the fact that every place that sells them calls them a hundred different things.
here's a pic of a yellow fiji, and you can see part of a regular toadstool on the bottom right..
Click on the picture on the liveaquaria one to make it enlarged. You can see polyps all over it. Short polyps, very much different from toadstools, but they're covering it all the way.

This is one type of toadstool. You can tell that the polyps are longer and wavier..
Another type of toadstool...
Today when i get home from school i'll try taking a pic of my fiji yellow to show the difference.
