Yellow zoa ID

Got these recently. Anyone know what the heck they are? Taken under 14k MH lights.

Nice, but I think they will lose some of that yellow color.

Maybe turn greenish.

top look like bleached dragon eyes and bottoms look like healthier ones. i'm sure they will adjust and be ok

Not sure about that. The smaller zoas are yellow throughout. The larger ones have the nice orange centers. Do dragon eyes have yellow base color and skirts and change color as they get larger/older? Most dragon eyes that I've seen have a greenish color skirt instead of yellow.

These are my metallic dragon eyes, which do have the green skirt for comparison.

They are not a defined yellow. They are more of a yellow/green to begin with.

I have seen quite a few zoas come in looking yellow, but they almost always turn greenish.

Not saying they will for sure, but they might.

Lighting would play a big role in how they turnout.

I'd feel confident in your original statement, but this happens all too many times. I do a decent job keeping things colorful, but not as good of a job as many other people. I guess it goes back to the eternal questions of what makes them grow and what gives the best color? The world may never have a definitive answer.

Yeah, I know what you mean with the colors morphing. I'm hoping that they maintain their coloration under the MH lighting.

I, too, think they'll probably come to a stronger color after some time, and since the lower ones are orange I'd guess that's where they're headed. How recently did you get these?

The ones that are considered the Original Dragons eyes are Yellow skirt with bright orange centers.....I have some that have faded into the yellow color after being closed for long periods of time. The one in my colony that began to have the yellow move into the center never recovered the orange color, although any new polyps that came from the particular polyps were just like the rest. They may or my not regain the orange in the center it is hard to tell what they will do do under the proper lighting after a period of time......I don't think in anyway they will turn green like the Metallic Dragon eyes.
