Yes 2 spot gobie pair!!!

I've read somewhere that these have rather unusual spawning habits, closing up the nest and weeks later reopening it to release 1 single, well formed larvae....

Good luck!

Matt

Are you refering to Signigobius bioellatus?

Thein indeed the female stay in the cave for a few days and people assume that she is taking care of the nest. Also I have seen that several times, I never observed fry in my tanks. This nesting practise requires sufficent deep sand where they can dig their borrow.

Be aware that keeping this goby is already quite a challenge and that getting the females the procude eggs even more difficult.

Why is it a challenge?

Poor shipping conditions make them suffer a lot, getting them enough food in a tank with tnak mates and high flow rates is difficult ... wait a few months and then you see what I mean ..

Mimic, IMO you are wasting your time and tank space with those tomato clowns  Unless you simply want to breed for fun you are going to find out the hard way you can't even give them away. By the time you figure that out and stop raising them you will have a tankful, nothing like feeding and housung 600 adult fish you don't even really want. Want a second opinion? Ask Edgar what he thinks

Been there:D All lfs are packed with cheap gorgeous deep red tomatos waiting for some charitative soul!:p .
But everybody keep asking for Nemos:rolleyes:

Last week I pretty much had to beg a wholesaler to give me $3 ea for 50 tomato's, he was doing me a favor  Then yesterday I unloaded another 20 on some lfs who gave me $5. I manage to get rid of maybe 50/ month if I'm lucky and I still have 3-400 growing out :(

Ouch.... My 2 spots are still chillin together. Interesting the top of the tank is patroled by clowns and below them is a happy little "city" of gobies.
