are you spot feeding your coral at all?
i forgot are you running a skimmer?

Thanks Kase, I'll get another FTS tomorrow or Friday... I'll be adding a bit to the tank again tonight so Pic's will follow.

I feed the tank once a week with Marine Plankton and DT Oyster Eggs. Once in a while, maybe once a month, I'll thaw some Mysis and spot feed the LPS corals.

No skimmer, just weekly 2.5G water changes. The WC's are not intended to remove massive nutrients but replace trace elements like Calcium for the Clam (to become Clams). I don't dose anything.

Oh an I'll probably start fragging stuff in March when the contest is over... I have 3 more Acans on their way to me right now (UPS mis-directed it so it's late), I hope they make it. PM me in March, I'm sure I'll be needing to do some serious trimming by then.

the harliquin track down and find the star among the rocks etc? or did you throw in a couple little ones for him?

he is quite pretty so to is the very beautiful Crocea...my LFS only has clams about 5"...i would love to get ahold of a 1.5-2" clam..

anyway absolutely a beautiful tank...

i wish i could find a reef club around me...i would love to chat with some local reefers and swap/buy off them...as opposed to the LFS...

nothing against my LFS..it is just that half of what you have in there would easily cost me well over a 1000.00 bucks to have..

The star was at the top of the tank on the front glass and when I tried to hand the star to the shrimp he ran away. What I did was place it on the sand upside down (they will flip over given time) while he was out swimming around and as soon as he found it, he picked it right up. I'm picking up some CC Stars tonight along with 2 more harlys, and 2 more croceas (at least that is the plan)...

Thanks for the compliments and a local club is the best way to go, we started ours just word of mouth and while we are still pretty small, it doesn't take much trading to get a lot of corals. The folks here are really great and a lot of my frags came free of charge. The rest were from the LFS and they too are great! Try starting up a club locally with help from your LFS or just browsing the forums. If you are into Nano's be sure to check out nano-reef.com as I've seen people on there from Ontario...

Well I went thru all the entries at your contest web page. Now I know it takes time and effort and im not downing anyone work on there but son... You have set the standards in custom nano tanks I have been around for some time and let me tell you (remarkable).... Great job and good luck with the contest......

Thanks, haven't tested it yet (just added them last night) but I'm sure I'll still need to dose even with 2.5G water changes weekly.

Hey when you cut and route and sand your edges and glue them do you go back after its glued and sand some more and then polish with a buffer or you just flame it??? what do you do after glueing.. I am building some stuff and some of my edges arent the nicest....??? any im put would be great...

I cut my left and right side to size and using WeldOn I weld the sides to the back, 24hours later I flip it and weld it to the front. The sides are not flush with the ends on the front and back so then I put them on a router to trim the front and back flush with the sides. I then add on the top (which is already cut for any access holes/eurobracing) and last is the bottom. I then use the router to flush trim everything smooth. Once the tank is built I hand sand with 200 grit to remove any router ripples and then wet sand with 320 and finally 600. When that is done I buff (using my drill and baldor wheel) using an acrylic polishing rouge. Hope that helps, here's a great DIY thread. I don't flame anything as I've heard too many horror stories of crazing, it's worth the time to hand sand and polish IMO.

Well, just when I think it's complete I go out and buy more frags, 8 to be exact! There are 1 Acan, 2 Blastos, 1 Micro, 3 Enchinada's (orange, rainbow, and purple w/ lime green eyes) and a Chalice. I'll post pics as soon as I get some taken.

The most amazing nano I have ever seen, bar none. Where do you get your corals from? You know, your coral rejects you can send to me, I dont mind. I'll even cover the shipping hahaha I would wish you luck.. but you dont need it with that insanely beautiful tank.

61 frags and 6 clams in a 10gallon...that's crazy...tank looks great.
