(yet another) BTA and T5 lighting question

4 days ago I got a RBTA, and I thought my lighting would be ok for it, but now I'm starting to wonder if it is.

My tank is a 105g Oceanic that is very tall (48"L x 18"W x 29"H).

Lighting is 6 bulb, 48", T5 retro installed under canopy. They are overdriven via IceCap ballast to 80 watts each (480w total), all with individual reflectors, with cooling fans blowing on both ends.

The RBTA is currently about 22" below the bulbs, 8" of that is air and 14" is water. He has not moved but about 3" since I put him in there and it was all the first day and he actually moved down a little from where I put him. He looks good right now but it's only been a few days.

Do you guys think he will do ok under my lights in there? He could move up about 5" higher on the rock work if he wants, but like I said, he moved right after I put him in there but has stayed put ever since.

From the looks of it he should be fine... Rbta will move up down left right to find a suitable spot... When it does it will stay put until you change things around then it will probably move again.

i keep 2 RBTA's under a Marinland 4x54W fixture with ATI bulbs, 2 blue+, 1 purple+, 1 aquablue, non overdriven or anything..

i think your overdriven 6bulb fixture is plenty of light.
