yet another leaving the hobby thread

it pains me to say that I too will be tearing down and getting out of the hobby for awhile . after a couple of years of the failing health of my husband I need to devote all my time and energy to my family . I had thought about going fowler so I could keep my precious tangs , but I really think a break is needed at this time.

to start , I plan to hold an open house Sat 9/23 (10 am - ? ) to begin moving the livestock ( corals need to go first before fish can be caught ) . I have mostly softies ( zoas ) / lps corals and 3 gorgeous healthy clams ( all sps are gone ) . I will not have time for a full list or pics at this time . if you live close and/or are available during the day , I may be able to make some time during the weekdays for you . unfortunately I will not be able to take "dibbs" , this will have to be first come first served . I have not figured prices yet , but all will be priced to go.

a few things I have available .......

yellow toadstool
neon green clove polyps
neon green sinularia
pulsing sinularia
finger leather ( x 2 )
large green kenya tree (x 2 )
several smaller leathers
green star polyps ( 2 types )
zoas ( several colorful varieties )
ricordia ( including hot pink yuma )
green open brain
red open brain
crocea clam ( x 2 )
dersa clam
300 (+) lbs of mixed live rock ( there are some choice bali flat/ledge pieces in there )
5 gal bucket of used and cleaned southdown sand ( x 2 )
and many more ..........

I hope to be able to move the drygoods the following weekend.I do have a few things that are available , I will try to list those items along with prices prior to the 23rd . thanks

On the green open brain.. About how big is it? Would you consider shipping as I do not have time to get out to wonder lake.. You could ship on my Fedex acct.. I could actually ship the box and supplies to you and you could ship the coral back to me in the box.. This of course depends on the price.. I'd also possibly be interested in the rics and yumas again depending on price.

Thanks everyone for the kind words . I have received alot of pm's requesting to come by sooner . I would love to accomidate everyone , but I really have no time during the weekday evenings . I have out of town guests this weekend so that is out as well . I am thinking that maybe my open house idea was not a good one and could get crazy and disorganized . so I will start making apts in the order I was contacted . I am only available during the weekdays before 2pm and anytime on the weekend after 6pm Friday . I might be open to shipping what does not sell locally . I will get a fish list up later today and hope to have everyones pm's responded to by then as well . thanks for your patience .

o.k. the following is a fish list . they can go only after the corals and some of the live rock . I would like the fish to go to experienced keepers only ( tangs must go to a 6 ft tank ). I am still trying to make it thru my pm's on the corals ( the response has been overwhelming ).

1 pr of mated osc. clowns with their 2 rbta's - must take all and be willing to keep both anemones with them ( they do share the bigger one , but the little guy likes his own for those times when she's moody ) $50 for the pkg

1 large fat yellow tang $25

1 yellow eye kole tang $20

1 regal tang $25

( or all 3 tangs for $60 , they get along great )

1 fat female lyretail anthias ( eats pellets and any frozen food offered ) $20

1 bi-colored blenny $10

3 x green chromis $10 for the group

1 yellow watchman goby w/ tiger pistol shrimp and their x-large rock home $50
