My fish is swimming on its side and is occasionaly hitting the Sand bed. I think hes dying, probobly not far off. however I have done an immediate 30% water change. So anything else i can do?

Usually when this occurs the fish is near death and there is nothing you can do, I feel for you there is nothing worse than watching a fish struggle for life however, try to improve and correct the conditions that caused the fish to deteriorate to this state and try again

I have to agree with this... humanely putting it out of its misery (put it in a small container of water & freeze it) is the best thing you cann do for it. You didn't notice anything else before it got to this point? If you start over again, might want to consider a QT/hospital tank, where you can observe new fish and treat fish before they get to this point separately.
