Well I was just walking by my rock tank and look a quick look, And I saw him again. That little crab. I think it is a decorator crab. (Steve this one is for you) He look just like a little light brown hairy spider. with little fangs coming out the mouth. Well I looked at him and he sat there looking at me. "Like what are you going to do about it" So I reached in and took the whole rock he was sitting in out of the tank. "That is what I'm going to do" He crawled deep in the rock. It is a pretty big rock, 8in or so round. I watched very closely(I didn't want him to get me.) So I know he is in that rock. Now, how do I get him out. He is in there to deep for me to reach in with needle nose pliers and pull him out. I do want to keep that rock if I can. It have a real nice clam encrusted on it. and the top of the clam moves with the water flow. Just like the fake orniments they make, But this one is real. So should I soak it in vinigar. try to let it dry out. Those hole run deep and appartently. hold enough water in there that he is safe for a while.

i've heard of people spraying soda water in the hole..
Yep, pour some seltzer water into the hole.

Is there pics of this gorilla crab. If I see a pic. I could tell you. I can tell you I stinks. I almost smells like enbolming fluid. face looks like a vampire bat. and very light brown beige color. and hair little legs. . If we catch him maybe we can feed him to "Wacks".

I looked for pictures of gorilla crabs, This is a lot hairier than those pic. tranchula hair. alot lighter in color. But then I don't know if all gorrila crabs look exactly the same. or if there is variance in color, and how much hair. But it just as ugly.

I saw that pic too. I don't think this guy looks like him. mine is hairyer and different shade. but I don't know.
I got the seltzer water, and squirted it into all the different holes. about half a bottle so far. He hasn't come running out. I don't know if he died instantly with the seltzer. and I will have to shake him out.
I will wait a little while see if he comes crawling out on his own, if not I guess I will put the other half of the bottle in there and try to wash him out.
Do these guys always stink so bad. Boy this really sinks. my cat ran out of the room.

SAVE HIM.

They will not die from the seltzer, the rock stinks because it is not cured yet.

He is still in that rock.
If you can dunk the rock in RO water he will come out it might take a while, put him in some saltwater and bring it up sometime. I have a couple triggers and puffers that would like to ask him a couple questions. Or "Capn' Crunch" the Mantis on the counter could give him the tour of the nanocube.

If I get him to come out. Iam taking a squeeze bottle and filling it with selter. and filling the holes. Not nearly as much coming out as going in. But I figure if he is still alive, he should come crawling out looking for better situation.

Well I'm tried everything short of a sledge hammer to get this guy out of this rock. I can't see him. and no sign of him. But I know he is in there. I did not take my eyes off of him while I was pulling that rock out of the tank. (Afraid he would get me) So I know he is in there. I've tried the squirter shooting water in all the holes hoping that he would get scared and come running out. RO dips, shaking the rock, almost lost my encrusted clam. But no ugly guy. I tried to shake all the water out. and let it sit dry on top of 1x1 strips of wood. hoping he will climb out looking for water and climb down to the water under the rock. Will this work. I can't think of anything else. Can You?
