Yoccm's 300G DD In Wall Build

I spent about 3 hours trying to get a bulkhead to stop dripping. I always make sure that I have some in house now! Hows the plumbing going?

I spent about 3 hours trying to get a bulkhead to stop dripping. I always make sure that I have some in house now! Hows the plumbing going?

Getting close - got all the drains done and started on returns. Got the manifold put together for my reactors but still need to finish the return lines to the tank. Going very slow! Definitely my least favorite part of the build so far. I hope to wrap it up this week in the evenings after work. I will try to get some pics up on the progress.

I have a question for everyone - my return pump uses 1.5" pipe for the return. I am plumbing up and over the back of the tank. I was originally thinking of using loc-line for the output in the display but noticed it only comes in 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and 2.5 size.

I am not sure I want to restrict from 1.5 all the way down to 3/4. I think I am going to have the returns come up both sides as well as in the middle of the tank so 3 output sources into the display.

Any suggestions or examples of what you have done with returns would be helpful.

Thanks

just throwing this out there... your not concerned w/ any pool balls getting out flying into the tank...?

I'm certain that would NEVER happen... LOL... ;-)

the build looks awesome ...

Thanks Marc - pool table's been in for months and so far so good. Had a few stray balls jump off the table but it is pretty far away from the tank and quite a bit lower. Hopefully won't be a problem.

PLUMBING IS DONE!!!!!
:bounce1::bounce2::bounce1:

Finally!

Well sort of .... Small leak on the threaded return coming out of the pump. I hope to get it fixed tomorrow and get sand in it.

I will post some pix tomorrow.

wasn't trying to worry you... w/ some of the pool playas i hang w/ I'm just saying it could happen ;-)

No worries!! I had several people question my sanity in putting a pool table within striking distance of the tank:spin2:

Like I said .... so far so good

pics pics pics!!!

Sorry for the delay in pix .... here are some shots of the finished plumbing

Shout out to Mike aka prop frags - the Gate Valves were soooo the way to go on the Herbies!!!!

just one question what are you running off of your manifold and is everything going to hang in the sump??

Thanks Crazyfish! Actually that is what I was doing tonight was setting up my Nextreef reactor with ROX carbon. I also plan to set up another reactor with GFO. BTW I have got my PO4 down to .1 from 1.2 using the Lanthanum Chloride. I also have a biopellet reactor but am holding off on setting it up until I get the system more established.

I plan to have all the reactors in the second chamber of the sump. I plumbed 4 in the manifold to give me one extra for potential future use.
