Yodle Pico

Markdiego, this many strips is more than enough to keep SPS alive, that's why I added so many. As a matter of fact the light is too intense right now. I've put 3 black fiberglass screens on top of the lid 2 and a half weeks ago. I'll remove screen #1 in about a week or so. You can still see how much light is still pouring in! It does give the tank a cool purple glow though. My Pico has been running since 10-06-12.

I appreciate it! The Ecopico comes stock with one arm and 3 LED strips. I added 2 arms and 4 more LED strips since the additional arms only came with 1 LED strip a piece. I really like how you can mix the color array between the whites and blues. The only drawback I've noticed is that the 3M adhesive on the back of the strips doesn't stick well. I used some silicone to reinforce it. If anyone does add this many strips to their pico I highly advise that you light acclimate your coral very carefully, because these LED's are intense. The black fiberglass screen technique is working well for me. I haven't pulled the 1st screen off the top yet, so this is why I haven't taken any PAR readings. Once everything has been removed I'll take some readings.

The arms with 1 strip retail for $43 and the single LED strips retail for $23. Each arm requires a 3-way splitter to be plugged into one power unit, so I had to buy 2 of those as well. The 3-way splitters retail for $9 a piece.
