Taking opinions on how a young purple tang and a young orange shoulder will do if introduced at the same time.

I'd stick with just the purple tang and save the orange shoulder for the bigger tank, it's not like they are rare or hard to find.

I agree with this. I had a TINY purple grow to 5+ inches in less than a year :eek2: Very aggressive to my other two tangs, so I sold it to a local with a very large tank.

this purple tang took me forever to find though :/ is there any thing i can do to help it be less qgressive?

No, that is their genetic make-up. They just need the right tankmates and enough room. IMO & IME: cramped space=stress=aggression. They are far from the most aggressive tangs.

right now 100 but in a year ill have a 300 gallon that they will go in.

are you 1million percent sure the upgrade is gonna happen? case in point i was 14 days away from ordering a custom tank to have a new house built around and find out thru a news paper article my wifes work is shutting its doors

I've had my orange shoulder tang and my purple tang in together for quite some time and I have yet to see them fight and they are both around 4 inches! On the other hand my yellow tang and my purple tang fight every once in a while. My Clown tang would have to be my most aggressive tang I've got but he still doesn't bother with anything and he's got to be about 5 inches and one fat porker!!lol If you are deffinately going to upgrade within the a year I would and him in. This is just my opinion!
