My favorite tang would have to be a tie between the Sohal tang (Acanthurus sohal) and Achilles tang (Acanthurus Achilles). Whatââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s yours? Post pics
I just had my favorite Tang die this morning...he was a red sea sail fin...I think my black cap killed him cause he was alive last night before I went to work and this morning when I got home he was DOA.....he was sharp to really nice colors vivid lines of yellow.....I took some rock out yesterday and it really p'd off the black cap...
My favorite is also one that I cannot have in my 180 gallon. The tank is just too small. I love the coloration and streamers of the Vlamingii Tang. However it grows quickly and can grow to a length of 24". They don't even start to get their adult coloration until they are about 10" - 12" long or so.
One of these days I will have a tank that is large enough to hold one of these monsters.
I forgot to mention Gem Tang (Zebrasoma gemmatum). I have always wanted one but they are very rare and extremely expensive. I have seen one on sale for $2500, maybe one day.
That is a very pretty PBT. my favorite would have to be a sohal, blonde naso, and after seeing those pics a vlamingii. now in order to fit my three favorite in a tank together how big would you say it would have to be? keep in mind i don't want the tang police coming after me and these are huge. i'm only 22 so i need to start planning out what i need to strive for. would a 1200 gallon suffice cuz i'll have to start looking for change in couch cushions immediatly if i want one by retirement.
My favs are Hippo, Purple, White-faced, I have all 3 and love them. I also like this black one I got but I do not think it is going to stay all black, it looks like it has some circles on it that are silver/white. So I will add it to the list once I figure out what it is
