Your ocd and rock placement.

That's exactly why I started with dead rock this time around. I built my structures over the span of a few days and didn't add water for two weeks. Looking at the tank from every angle and tweaking rocks here and there. When I was happy (and when the plumbing was done) I filled the tank.
 
I think the idea is to cover the rocks with corals thus hiding the rock work and making aquascaping pointless.
Yeah but you dont just want a pile of rock on the bottom of the tank either. If you set your rock up right and then cover with corals. As the corals grow in it give a good visual appeal to it. I really like the valley look on larger tanks, to cliffs of rock with a valley/crevasse in the middle.
