Your PH Controller

I was looking at a milwakee sms 122 ph controller. I recently purchased a Calcium Reactor bundle from a local reefer which included an american marine pinpoint monitor. Would you recommend the milwakee controller over this? Only reason i ask is because I DO want the set it and forget it features of a controller but don't want to spend that much for the american marine version. Is the milwakee one just as accurate? Thanks again for your help.

Pinpoint is far better and more reliable. I have owned both and am not impresed with milwakee at all.

I just got my Milwaukee in the mail today. I know and see a lot of people who use them. I'm sure with everything its all personal preference.

If you take the milwaukee and pinpoint apart their is a huge difference in quality. Pinpoint probes are better quality than milwaukee. Personal preference is whether or not you like Porsche or Ferrari, both well make. Milwaukee would be Kia and Pinpoint would be BMW. You get what you pay for.

I can always replace the probe when time with a pinpoint.

melev let me know he's been using the a milwakee for years and it's worked well as a controller for him

I just installed my sms122 and am a little disappointed with it. While I do believe that it is accurate, I don't like that I can't control my ph to go up and down. I guess I should have read more before buying.

most ph controllers are like that bud. you have to specifically buy one reverse compatible

yah, but you think the default setting would make it to go up, not down.

Should have just bought a Aqua Controller Jr. They are couple hundred bucks and you can set it to do what ever with your PH. It also would replace your timers, ATO ect..
