Hello RicordeaKeeper,

I have a tank with both of them (yumas & floridas) and till now no harm done.

But I keep them in separate Islands.

Cheers,

another question..my flordia's like flow and light..i have read that yuma's dont like light and no flow..is there a happy medium for both in the same tank..or do i need to tuck the yuma's under a cave..

Rick

It depends on what kind of lighting you have... Yumas can be touchy when first introduced so it's better to keep them in a cave, after that you can slowly acclimate them to where you'd like them and see if it works. I'd definitely keep them in the bottom 1/3 of the tank though.

i have 96 watts pc lighting over a 15 gallon tank..i can kepp them in a cave..the lighting im not concerned about, but the flow in this tank is crazy high..im not using any powerheads at all in this tank and the surface of the water still ripples..

I tried keeping Yumas and Floridas together. The Yumas def like lower light. The Fl Ricordea grew until they touched the Yumas. One day all the Yumas were gone. I think the Fl Rics ate them.
