YWG - Lawnmower - Aggressive

Hi Reef Central

I just bought an Algae Blenny and acclimated him for a good 2 hours and introduced him to my tank.

As soon as he entered the tank he became quite comfortable and started to eat, which pleased me very much.

As he got more comfortable he started to become very aggressive towards my YWG and kicked him out of his cave (YWG has been residing in that cave for about a year now) and virtually pushed him to the corner of the tank.

Would this behavior be because I dont have a pistol shrimp for the YWG? do you think it would make him feel more comfortable to defend himself?

I have lawnmower blenny and orange spot goby-pistol pair that have no problems. been in there over a year

some blennys are just jerks and when they want something they take it! but ya a pistol shrimp may have helped protect their house!

I would say yes. I had a six line wrasse that tried to mess with the pistol, and he got whooped on.:blown:

When I first added my tiger pistol to my tank my female clown charged him as if to attack...she got popped at real quickly. From then on she never bothered him again. lol

I think everyone learns pretty quick not to mess with a pistol. Mine only pops when something is close to the burrow & doesn't bother anyone & my tailspot is nosy when construction is going on.

lol, alright, I just don't want it to stun the blenny and destroy it.
