zebra moray

I hear a lot about how large zebra morays grow. Sometimes I hear they grow 30", sometimes 36" and sometimes 48" What is the largest zebra moray you have ever seen in captivity or better yet owned? Thanks for your help.

I have 2. One is currently about 3' long and about the 1.5" in diamater. The other is about 4' long and 3" in diamater.

mine was 40" and have seen 2 more that were a bit bigger. great pet would get another if i could get a tiny one

I had a pair that were a few yrs old. Maybe 36-40" long.

Thanks for all of the post. I was under the impression that these eels did not get as big in captivity as they do in the wild. Sounds like I was mistaken.

We have one that is about 30 inches and eats like a pig. He is a great fish. He is very peacful and does not bother anything in the tank, there is even a peppermint shrimp in their that hangs out by his cave.

thats pretty cool splateee. any picks with both of them in it? i bet the peppermint gets plenty of left overs off the eel. mine made a huge mess

Sorry no pics, i have been wanting to take some. It caught me by suprise the first time i saw it. I originally had four peppermints in the tank because of aptasia and then added the eel a month later and thought they were gone.
