Zebrasoma tangs

I would like to add a herbivorous fish to my 125g tank and because of the algae I have I think a Zebrasoma sp. would be the best match.
I only have small, peaceful fish in the tank now and would hate to see them harrassed or frightened by a new addition. I want a tang that eats hair algae as well as caulerpa.
I've read several sources that indicated the Scopas tang was the most peaceful of the Zebrasomas.
A few articles however said the Yellow tang was less likely to become beligerent (saying the opposite of what the other articles said).
So which one should I get if I want a good algae eater that doesn't disturb the other fish too much? Yellow tang? Or Scopas?

Yellow tang? Or Scopas?

Neither. You need to correct the problem that is causing the algae bloom, or you will always have algae, with tang or no tang. Add a tang if you want one for the looks, but it will not get rid of your algae problem.

My tank is primarily non photosynthetics. It's not an SPS tank. ;)
Food inputs are required and I am happy with my levels (Nitrate, Phosphate, Nitrite, etc. are all undetectable). My NPS corals are thriving and multiplying.
I have algae because I have food inputs -somewhat unavoidable with an NPS dominated tank.
If I could do it over I would eliminate that rock that had that small twig of macro algae on it before it spread onto other rocks. But it's in there now and I am trying to find something that will eat macro algae -namely caulerpa- in the display.

I would go with a Kole or Tomini Tang if you are looking for a peaceful tang. I've seen some tiny ones for sale at my lfs. Zebras are hit or miss. Some are ok others are demons. I have a couple of Yellows and the larger of the two is starting to get pretty bad with the harassing. Always flexing on my Powder Blue. I wish my large Purple would just set him straight with a couple of wacks.:D

Thanks. Looks like I should skip tangs alltogether. I really don't want just an ornamental tang. Since the Kole is a bristletooth tang it would not be very likely for it to eat macro algae like the caulerpa - and that's really what I'm after.
Maybe I'll try an urchin instead (also easier to catch than a tang if it doesn't work out ;) )
