Its been a bit,

Decided to compare what my tank looked like 3 months ago.

I lost both wrasses, one due to jumping out. Velvet wrasse my dogs got to it before I could multicolor wrasse happened while I was at work. Other than that everything is looking good. Made a few additions,

Blue/Pink Favia
Green/Red Favia
Red/Black Chalice
another Small Acan Colony
Prism Favia (purple the green rim and green eye)
Couple other frags.
Orange/Red Linkia
Small Blue Tang
Pair of Ocer. Clowns
Lythilion Edwarsi Colony
Lunar Elcips Palys
and prolly a few toher things I missed

Also had a small outbreak of ick on blue tang when first introduced, treated food with metrodizanole and focus. Seemed to take awile but with added, garlic, selcon VitC etc to food and tank keeping it clean went away but kept treating for about a month.

No losses and everything looks great.

Heres my tank when it started 3 months ago. and today

"If a Great Musician plays Great Music but no one is there to hear it, was he really any good?"

It cannot be defined as "great" music until someone hears it.

Dang jason! That looks great!

Thanks Bobby.

Just battleing diatoms in my sand band again. Phosphate is showing up on my API test kits so obviously its a little higher than I would like.

Finally got a sump, so will be using the current rubbermaid container as a fuge. Mainly just for nutruent export using cheato.

Also has been a non stop battle with Aiptasia, Put a butterfly for about a week which worked out great had no aiptasia, but didnt like ANY new additions so removed him. Since ive had numerous aiptasia pop up everywhere.

I need peppermints but thinking of going with another butterfly, maybe a copperband and hope i get lucky with one that will eat after all the aiptasia are gone

Re: Night shots

What are those zoas on that rock? I have the exact same kind and have never been able to find a name for them!

And Protein Skimmer looks awesome! Took me FOREVER to get mine tuned in! Why are you marking the collection cup?

the zoas i beleive are greenbay packers, or a morph as I have others in different lighting and looks just like them.

I was marking it mainly to just have a visual of how much skimmate I was collecting thats all.

Well took me a Minute. Still need to post up some new pics, just waiting for me to clean up the frags as my one turbo knocked them all down and repositioning everything.

Anyways I have added the following

Copperband Butterfly which has taken care of my aptasia problems and is eating whole PE mysis, hikari mysis, Hikari spurlina brine, and even flake cyclopes. Its amazing he prettymuch will eat anything I put in my tank.

Also added a striped blenny from ORA

Added a shark nose Goby from ORA

Added a nicely colored sailfin tang, almost looks like a Desjardini but its not just has some good yellow coloring.

Not sure if I mentioned adding a Dispar Anthias

Female Ocerlais Clown Laid some eggs, then beat up the black male into the overflow shortly after. Noticed before it was to late and lost the black clown. Thinking of remving her as she does this often, lays eggs and then goes after the male.

Corals

Added the following

-Meteor Shower Frag
-Flower Petal frag
-Greed toadstool, toadstool itself it green with thick tanish/green poyps as well
-Darth Maul 5 polyps frag, has 1 baby head after about a 2 weeks of having it. hasnt changed in a month
-Setosa Frag, grows quickly
-ORA Red Planet
-ORA Pearlberry
-ORA Org Digi
-Green Open Brain
-Zoa/Paly rock, palys are multi colored zoas are dark green
-Rainbow Monti frag
-reverse sunset monti, Bright green with red polyps

Equiment-
added a sump on the side cause my new skimmer didnt fit. Ended up getting a Vertex IN180 which has been an aweseom upgrade.

Tried dripping Kalk for a couple weeks to keep things stable worked out fine but tired of cleaning drip line etc every few days and only using a 5g jug which I go though in about a day and a half.

Ill get some pics up as soon as I can.

Nothing really looks different from last pics, but ill post some tonight.

Just got done testing. And atleast now I know why coraline slowed, some SPS corals lost color and complelty stopped growing. lol.

ELOS/Tropic Marine Test Kits
PH 8.1
Alk 9
Calc 450
Mag 1400

API test kits
Amn 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 60+
Phos .5+

Forgot all about the bioballs I had in the back chamber of the overflow, removed those, siphoned out any junk I had in the overflow and sump. Just did a 15g water change as thats all I had on hand. Guess thats what I get for overfeeding and skipping water changes often and still using a couple gallons of bioballs lol.

I have no algae growth or anything and everything looks good to okay so didnt think anything of it. Havnt tested in awhile.

Looks like Ill start doing 25 gallon water changes weekly til I get everything inline to atelast undetectable Phosphate from API tests and 0 on api test kits on the nitrate.

Tank breakdown

Tank breakdown

Well been busy, broke the tank down and moved everything into a new shallow reef tan k I had built by John at advanced acrylics

Anyways went from the 115g to a 70g 48x24x14 rimless acrylic tank. 3/4" acrylic.

well 115 empty on the balcony lol. heres everything moved and new tank setup.

IMG_4252.jpg

Most of all the fish made it to the tank except the large mag. foxface. Switched him out for a small one.

Soon the disj sailfin will be coming out and blue tang as well as they grew fast ofcoarse. plus the tank is just 2 small for them.

This setup will still be using the vertex in-180(oversixed skimmer for sure
I added a calcium reactor, vertex rx4 with aquatic life ph controller, milwalkee regulator/selenoid

also had a sump 36x15x16 made by advanced acrylic just standard nothing special.

Not running refugium, going with a bare bottom to see how that goes. Starting to get into sps a little.

Also power heads include 2 koralia 4's and 2 koralia 3's still need more flow in front. The 4's are behind the aquascape near the bottom to keep anything from settling and push it up front for easy removal. the 3's are in the top back corners pointing towards the front center of the tank. Thinking of a couple mp20's or 1 mp40. But being 3/4" thick acrylic worried about wetside failing prematurly.

Running 2 of the 250w caymans with hamilton m80 ballast with pheonix 14k bulbs. Added a 2 bulb t-5HO fixture for actinics.

Latest Test results form this morning (just set up reactor a couple days ago so mainly was looking at PH which should be at its lowest.
