Zeovit - System

I also use zeovit but I question exactly what the few drops of product X does to the tank overall. I think zeovit gets a person more involved with their tank. Its been proven that you can get the same results doing virtually nothing. I use zeovit and I have lost corals. What do you mean fly RC jets not real jets right cause the money spent on zeovit would be insignfacant

Following. I understand zeo tanks can be beautiful, I just wish they were more open about whats going into the tank and why.

open in terms of what ?

they do say what the product will do, how to use it and so on, side effects and ... are all there too, you can prety much figure out whats in each product.

but it would be wrong to want them to share their complete ingredients and amounts of each ! that is their intellectual property ... even cookies do not tell you EXACTLY whats in it and how much ... they want to sell you the cookie, they dont want to make you the chef :)

its same with every other product out there .... ESV will never give out their secret of houw much trae elements are in their B-ionic additives ! thats their property ... if they did tell me, I woudnt ned to buy their products anymore, and I do not think they are in charity work :)

if you think about it, it makes sense ...

the answers are out there ... for example the basic 4 ... its prety much understood what each drop does, carbon dosing is not that new and is well documented.

I like your comment about RC jet ;)

the basic 4 is
Zeoliths ---- place for bacteria to grow.
Zeobac ----- the bacteria, multiple strains
Zeostart3--- Carbon source, food source for the bacteria.
Sponge power --- helps growth of sponges, which take up excess bacteria, shed their tissue which is great coral food, and keep water polished via filter feeding.

then there are alot of other additives, which can help different situations, or can color up or down the corals based on personal needs.

for example Xtra makes colors darker, B-balance makes them lighter ...

it makes life easier, you should move the stones daily, to release the bacteria that grow on it, that's the coral food for the system.

you can run them in a bag in sump, but would be less efficient.

I used to run them in a phos ban reactor back in the days, had to take it off line and shake it up and down though daily lol

ALLMOST!!!!!

Please info on this coral. Curiosity is killing me :)

Richard, oh that's just a regular Montiopora Digitata, orange/red polyps, white base/skeleton. I have also seen them in green and red base/skeleton colours.

this is what it looked like at first

I would like to be a owner of a real jet, but I´m very happy with my RC

I would like to say that I´m not against zeovit, I think there are a lot of ways to keep a tank, just find the best option for you

Best Regards

ok good, so now you can take back your earlier comments about zeovit not working :)

and honestly, I have followed your tank, you are telling me that having to siphon the bare bottom and scraping the coraline and ... takes less time than adding a couple of drops to a tank ? again, hard to believe any of it. are you saying your tank [old tank] was maintenance free ? how much water changes did you do ?
