hi guys. reasonably experienced reefer of 6 years here. I'll be starting zeovit on my system later this weekend and had a few questions.

1) will I be following the directions on the bottles for dosing? or should i start slower since this is an established tank?

2) Should i go ahead and begin running carbon on my system in prep? or should I wait until I start it all up?

3) This is the equipment / zeo products I will have to start with.. do I need to start them all at once?

VX-ZF30 3.0L Vertex Dual Chamber Zeolith Reactor w/ Pump

Zeovit Media 1L
Zeobak 50ML
ZeoStart2 250ML
ZeoFood7 50ML

Thank you for any help / advice you can offer. I'll be happy to give any more information on the setup that is needed.

Here is a picture of my tank a few months ago, just so we know what we're dealing with here.

Those additives are what's recommended when starting ULNS and should starve nutrients. I've been on full blown Zeo now for over a year and I love it.

I would recommend registering with the other Forums so that you may get details from the folks at Zeovit. Be aware that the params below have to be met prior to starting Zeo.

Ca 380-420
Mg 1200-1350
dKH 6.5-8.0
K+ 380-400ppm
salinity 33-35%ppt.

GL!

I did already register at zeovit ,but haven't had a response yet. the only thing im not certain about is teh Mg lvl of my tank. I suppose I need to grab me a test kit.... just hate doing MG cause its SOOOOOO complicated compared to easy kits haha.

Yeah, I always had a hard time testing Mag as well. I found the Elos test kits to be a bit less complicated. A little pricer but easier to use.

K+ is potassium (kalium). It is recommended to get a test kit for this since zeo can cause it to go to low levels and your coral will suffer. The 2 test kits for this that I know of is the KZ one, and the Fauna Marin. From what I have heard the FM is a lot easier to read than the KZ.

Go check out the Zeovit site and go to general discussions and check out the stickied threads to find the Zeovit guide And read it I even printed
Myself out a version :)

second on the zeovit site. Post your system specs and they are incredibly helpful with guiding you through the pocess. Hold off on the zeofood for a bit.
