i have about maybe 10 different in my 24 gal nano and most of my zoas are doing really good. but there are 2 frags that dont seem to be doing sp great. first one that is not doing so good is my nuclear green, it isnt growing and seem to be shrinking. when i bought this frag i also bought about 4-5 other frags. all are doing really good except the nuclear green and my armor of god (other zoa that isnt doing so good). when i bought the frags i also got some purple death and they are doing really good. when i bought the PD it camer with about 3-4 head now it has like 10+ heads. the PD and NG seems like there are simular to each other and im wonder y one is doing so good and the other one isnt. now my AOG is not opening fully and seems like it might be melting. all these corals were in my 55 gal and was doing great until my phosphate shot up to 5.0. my corals started to lose there colors so i went and bought a AP24 that was running for 3 years. now all my corals seems to be do great except the 2 frags of zoas and a couple of my sps frags. any one have any ideas what might be wrong?

here are my tank prams just tested it 2 days ago.

sg - 1.026
nitrite - 0
nitrate - 0
ammo. - 0
temp - 80
cal - 520
phos - 0
kh - 8

Any fish/crabs that might be bothering them? PDs and NGs are the same type of protopaly so i have always placed them next to each other, might give that a shot. The AOGs sound like they need a Furan2 dip and more flow IMO.

sg - 1.026 ( I run usually around 1.024-1.025 )
temp - 80 (running close, especially with a nano tank, a little heat wave and you'll hit the 83 degree treshold )
cal - 520 ( Recommended is 450 )

Placement of the corals before and now? fish species in your tank?

I have a pair of picasso clowns a tang that is about 4-5 inches (it came with the tank) and a spotted mandarin goby that's about 3 inches. They were acting up before I had moved them in the new tank. When they were in my 55 gal they were at the bottom of the sand. In my nano they are at the left of the tank about half way up on a frag rack I made. My temp is usually at 76-78 when lights are off and 80 when lights are on. I am using a 150w MH light for my nano. How would I bring my cak down? I don't add anu additives just do a 5 gal water change every week or two. And I will bring my cal down too. Why is it that my PD is doing so well and the NG isn't?

That's just normal operating parameters that most operate around.

Oh BTW, what's your pH... usually when polyps look like crap.. pH/Alk/Salinity are usually off.

my PH is usually at 8 but when i went to test it the other day my test kit was trippin and i couldent tell what it was reading. i use the dip test kit thing. but i will be buying a new PH test kit. is it normal for zoas to spit out some stuff from their mouth? i see some brown string thing coming out of the mouth of some zoas. is that how they poo? i will post some pics when i get home today.

poop... I bet your pH/Alk are off. Try using other test kit like elos and other well known kits. I've tried several different ones, that were giving me good readings, but my corals kept looking like crap, I did a Elos and another well known brand and both showed that my other test kits were crap and gave me incorrect readings. I don't test as much any more but when my zoos act up it usually tells me the pH/Alk or salinity are off.

Yea I will get new test kits. What are other good ones instead od elos? I bought a api reef test kit that I haven't opend yet is this a koo brand?

My PD always seems to grow better than my NG. I also use Reef Crystals & with all the corals I have packed in my tank & still have to add Ca daily.

Please move that tang out of there! It requires a minimum of 90g. Also, there will be no way for a Mandarin to get it's weight in pods daily & it will starve to death in there!

Go with the Salifert test kits.

I know the tank is way to small for that tank. I am going to put it in my new tank as soon as its ready. Just need to cycle it and it should be ready. I would put it in my 55 gal that is running but I already have another tang in there. And for the mandarin I have trained it to eat frozen foods so its doing fine in there. So far I have 2 mandarins and I have had success training them onto frozen foods.

What about PH probes are thoes any good? I will try to look for those test kit and see if I can find them at my LFS
