So i have noticed i seem to be loosing a few polyps here and there. Figured it was my pods ****ing them off. I found this thing on one colony today. Its red and fleshy out of water. One end has a sphincter that opens and when you go near it it slams shut. its at the bottom bright red.

Sepreate colony has this white branching like stuff growing on it. Any ideas guys.

Not sure on your first pic, hard to see.

But I think the 2nd the way you describe is a type of sponge. Can you just pull it off? They are filter feeders but the white branching kind grows kinda fast and could choke out some corals. I like it just not on my corals. Sometimes there are vermatid snails or spaghetti worms that also send out sort of a webbing that can irritate zoanthids at times.
