So I had a 90g FW tank for several years and last week it decided it was time to go a sprung a light leak. I drained and sold it to a store here in town for trade on some new corals. He gave me a few zoas a paly and a small head of frogspawn. He told me these would be good beginner corals for my new tank and would be a sign of how others would do. I'm curious as to if anyone may know the names of them. Thank you in advance

The first two pictures just look like your run of the mill green/brown Protopalythoas. The third one is Eagle Eyes & the fourth is a Radioactive Dragon Eye polyp.

Thank you for the ID!!!! The radioactive dragon eye is really pretty. Its a smaller polyp though Im hoping its will take off nicely.

dont let those green palys near any other rock or you will regret it. they will smother out other zoas, etc and take over.

I went from 2 to 24 in a year. This is my first tank so probably could have grown faster if I was better. I like them unsure why the heads got smaller

Mine has really opened up in the past week. Being my first tank I'm OK with take over as well. I like the bright green it adds to my tank. 20170128_174921.jpg

to each their own but after my first year of reefing i can promise one thing, if your interest in coral expands you'll be kicking yourself for letting those bad-boys randomly spread. careful planning is what makes beautiful tanks.
