Zoanthid question

Hey everyone. So I have a newer zoanthid colony that has been doing fairly well and seems to be growing. But today I added some Chemipure elite to my hob filter and ever since I added this the zoas have been all closed up. Is this something I should worry about?

Did you rinse it well first? Could be some carbon or GFO fines pestering them, but I wouldn't worry too much.

I put it in there right away then pulled it right out a few seconds later when I realized I didn't rinse it. So maybe that's it.

as a Zoa owner, please read through this thread. Not trying to frighten anyone, just that you need to be aware of this about Zoa's. I spent 3 days in ER.

Zoas do tend to close up pretty quickly if anything offends them and can stay that way for several days at a time. I wouldn't worry too much yet..
