Zoas have a bit of black on them

I have an issue. I have Zoas that have some black on them and this seems to be killing them.
I lost a head, it started not to open and then it just shrank away.

Yes I know PICs.. I will try to get some tomorrow.

They are mounted on a rock so dipping them will be hard (would have to break them off the rock)
It looks as though someone spilled Copy Toner on them.

sounds like cyanobacteria...

does the "black" blow off with a turkey baster or power head?

It could be an infection. If mine get that way I take a soft toothbrush and brush them with the side of the bristles, then blast them with a baster. It may also help to increase the flow over that area. Just as an FYI, you may find better answers in the Zoa forum.
