Zoas in Canada

Any shipment of corals (e.g. zoas) across an international border is covered under the CITES treaty. Basically, it can't be done unless you get a very expensive permit and even then, you run the risk of lengthy delays in customs. I know of no US based lifestock store which will ship stock to Canada.

In Canada, there is a frag exchange group called 'frags.ca'. They often have zoas for sale, as well as many other types of corals. You can also look for other local hobbyists in your area (try the Canadian discussion forum: aquaria.com) or commerical groups such as J&L (jlaquatics.com).

you can try a place called ocean aquatics. they sell dry goods, frags and colonies and yes they do ship in canada

Do you mean this store: http://oceanaquatics.com/ If so, they are based on BC, not the USA.

My comment addressed US stores shipping to Canada. There are number of Canadian based stores which will ship corals, etc. within Canada, including the ones I mentioned and OA, among others.

If anyone wants zoa frags I know a guy in Mississauga and he has awesome zoa frags with awesome prices. I just got 6 zoa frags today. And he ships them anywhere you want in Canada. PM me if anyone needs contact with him.

Unfortunately someone just mentioned that Rommel (Ultimatefrags owner) is closing the store. If you act fast I am sure he still can do the final sale.

I generally have a few nice zoa frags in my frag tank and I am in Canada. PM me for more info - I am close to downtown Toronto.

Hey all, i'm looking for a good supplier of zoanthids that will ship to canada, any ideas?

Zach. You have a PM. please reply asap. thanks DJ88

I also sell lots of zoas..and ship cross country (last shipment was to a reefer in Summerside PEI)

....only thing these days is the weather.....i don't want to risk shipping when it's -20 out there! eek!

but hey...something to think about when the weather warms up a bit

Zach

You think there is a Canadian equialent to Reefcentral Zach????

With insulated shipping containers (sealed styrafoam) and heat pack(s) there are no issues with shipping at this time of year, especially zoas.

I wouldn't risk it. The penalties can be extreme, including confiscation of your car, fines and potential jail time.
