zoas spawning

I have a largish colony of pink zoanthids that spawned the other night. Has any one else observed spawning?

It's uncommon, but not that hard to see. Eric Borneman has a lot of threads about this in his forum on Marine Depot.

Beastmaster, I'd be very interested in seeing pictures of your zoanthids spawning if you have any I've never known of anyone have them spawn in a home aquarium so I would think it is very uncommon and would love to hear more about it.

I have a few pictures but they are all really bad I'm afraid! It happened about half an hour after lights out last sunday night. Just noticed these balls floating around the tank and tracked it down to these zoas. They were being produced sometimes as "doublers" and none of the fish/shrimps were interested in eating them. I cought a few in a net and they disintegrated pretty easily. Anyway, hope you can spot them in the picture. I also managed to take a short video of it with my camera but as luck would have it I managed to miss all the action!
