Zoo feeding?

I bought a piece of rock covered in zoo's (not sure what type, the guy at the LFS just said they were zoo's, they look like little brown flowers). Anyway when I first got it the rock was completely covered but now there are some bare patches. Everything else in the tank, GSP, mushrooms, xenias, and finger coral are all doing well. I put in some kent marine phytomax once a week, is there something else I should be putting in? Something just for zoo's.

Thanks

I thought I was ok but this is what I have in the tank. 1 coral beauty, 2 clowns, 2 pseudeochromis (spelling?), 1 blue damsel, 1 hermit, 1 CBS, and 3 turbo snails.
Does that sound ok?

No, I meant potential predators as in the following:

1) http://www.zoaid.com/gallery2/v/zoanthid_predators/main.php?g2_itemId=424

2) http://www.zoaid.com/gallery2/v/zoanthid_predators/main.php?g2_itemId=415

3) http://www.zoaid.com/gallery2/v/zoanthid_predators/main.php?g2_itemId=396

and 4) http://www.zoaid.com/gallery2/v/zoanthid_predators/main.php?g2_itemId=1473

*Note: the asterina stars are usually harmless. Unless you can positively identify them eating your zoanthids then you can leave them alone. I have many asterina stars in my tank and none show any interest in my corals.

I would pay close attention to the coral beauty and possibly the coral banded shrimp.

What type of hermit crab do you have?

And collonista/"mini turbos" are not the same as sundials even though they appear to "look like them" to some. Sometimes people get them confused. :D

Nothing like that in there that I have noticed but thanks for the info. So back to my original question I guess. Is there something else I should be supplementing with? When I bought the zoo's the guy wanted to sell me the phytomax and something else. I've got the phytomax but I forgot what the other stuff was called.

Oh my lord!!! The red Asterina eats zoos!!! One came in on a coral I got last week. I dropped it by accident and let it go in my fuge. Better search when I get home.

I thought most Asterina were harmless!

They are. I don't think you can effectively differentiate using color. If I remember correctly it is the 7 armed asterinas that have the potential to go after corals...not the 6 armed asterinas.

I have some red ones in my tank too and they don't touch a thing except algae.

Just my luck: all of my asterinas decide to park their gullets over one polyp or another. All removed. They were cool looking, but good riddance. And they were the 6 leggers.

IME watch them all and don't trust any of them completely.

Sorry! Back to your original question, I haven't seen any feeding response from any of my zoos on anything I have fed my tank. Eric Bourneman says that they will exhibit a feeding response to urchin eggs. If you find some, let me know. It would be cool to watch them eat.
