Hello Steve,

You should try some of these settings:
- raise the speed, to freeze movement (1/200e is good)
- close the aperture (larger number) to make a better DOF (try f13, you'll have a bigger zone for the crisp details)
- adjust your white balance and make a little "curve" or "levels" or "light/saturation" adjustment in a photo editor, to take off the "grey veil" on your image,if you see what I mean.

that should work very fine!

very nice pictures. What technique is being used to get such great shots through the glass? I have a nikon D80 how much will a macro lens help?
