Zooanthid extention = phosphates?

It seems like when I see my zoos extend it's "stalk" that my phosphate levels are up. Do you guys ever experience this? Its like a visual indicator.
 
My initial reaction is that light levels play in more to zoanthid stalk extension than phosphates. I notice my zoos in caves / shadows sometimes extending their stalks when they're "reaching" for more light. I have not noticed any correlation with phosphate levels but that doesn't mean it isn't happening.
 
I did just hang a luminarc reflector. Man, what a big difference. The coverage is day and night compared to the pfo reflectors I had.
