I recently set up a 5g. The rock had been curing for some time, but i finally added live sand from a store tank and a few mushrooms, polyps, and a green star. I currently have a 26 watts compact florescent 6500k daylight ge bulb. The bulb fits into the current hood. The only other thing in the tank is two snails. I want to get the coral growing. Will they multiply under this light? Should I add a second bulb? Or should I make a hood and install a pc? I have hesitated to put in the pc due to cost and not being sure if I will keep this tank running. It was originally started to house a few native catches and then used to cure rock. If I must upgrade to a pc, does anyone know a good way to do this on such a small tank? It is one of the old square 5g tanks. Carpentry and wiring don't bother me, but I am on a budget.
Thanks for the help.
