0.7 Gallon Pico Cube Experiment.

You guys are so nice!

WEDNESDAY!!! The fans will be in...then the canopy will be painted and finished.

Right now I'm trying to figure out how to make a mini float valve to add an auto topoff. I'm also drawing up some plans for a mini 2 inch protein skimmer.

Thanx again,
Jacob

Wow! That is really nice. I'd love to be able to do something like that, but unfortunately I am challenged in my woodworking skills..lol If you ever decide to sell it, I'd love the opportunity at it ;)

Seriously, that is a very nice little setup. I'm looking forward to updates.

Been workin my butt off. Haven't had too much time for much else. Got fans in and will mount and finish the canopy tomorrow. I need to find another 12VDC adaptor though to power them.

Thanx everyone for sticking with me,
Jacob

definately a kick *** project, but I have a question.....whats the total bill so far? just curious.....I wouldnt mind making one of these! lol wont happen tho....oh or I could pay someone...lol but seriously this tank looks bad***! great work cant wait to see the finished product!

Cost of materials (rough estimate):

Glass: $10
All of the acrylic: $10
Silicone, pvc cement, wood glue: $10
Wood (including trim): $50
All plumbing: $50
Fans: $12
LED array materials: $5
Paint: $15
Pump: $15

Keep in mind this is very rough...neglecting shipping, tax, and experimentation costs.

Also I already have all the tools needed to do the woodworking and special tasks as well as getting some things bulk (like the LED materials.)

Overall the project hasn't cost too much.

The largest expense has been the labor and attention to detail to get this thing exactly how I want it.

lol the patients(spelling) is what would kill me Im not much of the work for a few hours then wait lol....I do have some patients but not enough for this kinda project, but it looks sweet! lol again cant wait to see it up and running!

wheew!!! Been a long couple days with cousins graduating and moving, working, and trying to get some more done on this thing.

Got some done on this little guy. Will post pics in a couple minutes.

Thanx you guys,
Jacob

And here are the sweet little 40mm blue LED fans:

Also got the doors sanded and primed ready to be painted. Also decided to use some knobs to make it easier to get them out of the stand. I also think I will rig it to use magnets to hold the doors in place b/c right now they are a little loose.

Will try to get the painting and mounting done tomorrow. Thanx all for watching.
